Frequently asked questions

How do you dye the yarns?

I use professional acid dyes and quality yarns.

After dying I rinse the yarns carefully. I also wash them as long as they don't bleed. Some really bright colors or yarns with a lot of speckles may bleed a little bit during first washes and that's normal.

After washing I let them dry for a couple of days but never hang them when they all wet so they won't stretch.

Care instructions

Although most of my yarns are superwash merino, I recommend cold hand-wash. That's how the dye stays at its best.

For the same reason I never wash my knitted items without any reason, only if they have stains. Fresh air is usually enough.

I have tested my yarns in washing machine. And yes, the dye stays. But still: cold hand-wash, please!

Voiko lähestyä suomeksi?

Kyllä voi! Vastaan mieluusti, jos sinulla on kysyttävää.

Can I return it?

Yes you can, just contact me in 14 days of delivery and ship them back in 21 days. I do understand that even though I try to photograph the yarns as they are in nature and be as realistic as possible, we can see them differently from different screens.

Buyers are responsible for shipping costs for both ways. I return the cost of the item.

How do you choose the colors?

I like there's a main color and some speckles to support the idea. I don't want them to be too fuzzy so they match with other yarns easily. I also like using white as an element. It brightens the look and makes yarn vivid.

I like to keep color combinations interesting and contemporary, and I read a lot of fashion magazines. I want my yarns also to match the clothes I'm wearing.

I have recipes for the color combos but I prefer using my eyes. That's why the next dye lot is never exactly the same.

If you like to have a bigger amount of some colorway, please contact me. I do custom orders.

Custom and personalized orders

If you like to have a bigger amount of some colorway, please contact me. I do custom orders. No whole sale, sorry - but some special deliveries sometimes :)

Do you have animals?

There are no animals in my dying studio, but we have cats at home. I store my yarns in boxes at home and even though I wouldn't let the cats near the yarns, I can't guarantee totally animal free zone for the yarns, sorry!
